Cracking the AP English Literature Composition Exam 2019 Edition Practice Tests Proven Techniques to Help You Score a 5 College Test Preparation The Princeton Review Books Reviews

  • Many of the test-taking strategies detailed in this book were helpful, but the "Answers and Explanations" section that goes alongside the practice multiple choice sometimes sacrifices substance for entertainment. "Choice (B), pity, is just off the wall," is not a good explanation as to why choice (B) was incorrect. This is just one of several instances in which this book chooses not to go into detail on a topic in order to try to be funny. If you're an AP student who struggles with the nuances of the College Board's esoteric multiple choice questions, you might find this section of the book frustrating.
  • Although this book has many test taking tips to prepare you for the format of the AP Lit exam, the content review is lacking. THE WORST problem (for me) is that the practice tests provided in this book lack student developed essay responses. I love reading sample essays to identify the writing style required for a high score on the exam. Look elsewhere!
  • The review book is excellent but the on-line materials (comprehensive study guides and printable resources) are NOT what is advertised. We followed the instructions but couldn't find the materials. There is no "student tools" button. We looked under "My account" as instructed and also used the search bar and nothing turned up. Perhaps they resigned the website after printing the book. The majority of the website is designed to sell you classes or prep materials. We purchased this book over the another book because of the on-line component. That was a mistake! We feel that we were ripped off.
  • Fantastic study guide for CLEP Analyzing and Interpreting Literature. If you can get a passing score on these tests, you'll more than pass the CLEP. The CLEP was much much easier, but had the same types of questions.
  • Good book - we'll see in a few months what my daughter scores on the exam!
  • What we need to help study for this years AP exam. Hope it helps.
  • Good for review
  • Princeton Review doesn't edit especially carefully, nor do the alter their materials from year to year--so they're a cheap entry-level resource for test-prep. The practice tests are badly constructed enough that students will find the actual AP less challenging (since the CB has more at stake).
